Loch Ness

Parentage: Complex, from tetraploid North American varieties and SCRI breeding material.
Season: Extends over a long period. Ripens about half its crop in August in England.
Plant Habit: Vigorous, sturdy shoots. Spine-free, semi-erect becoming more erect in older plants. Fruiting laterals usually about 30 cm long, strong but flexible and with white flowers.
Fruit: Large, glossy black and blunt-conical in shape. Firm and pleasantly sharp flavour. Excellent storage capability.
Pest and disease tolerance: No exceptional susceptibilities have been identified.
Fruit Yield: High, comparable to those cv Bedford Giant.
Fruit Size: 4 - 6 g
