Glen Shee 

  • Parentage: Derived from a cross between 2 unnamed SCRI selections.
  • Season: Mid-season cultivar with a 50% pick date, about 9 days later than Glen Clova in Scotland. In more southerly locations in the UK, the 50% pick date is 13 days after Glen Clova and it has a long season of some 37 days.
  • Plant Habit: Spine-free, moderately upright canes. Fruiting laterals are medium in length, semi-upright and have high numbers of fruit.
  • Fruit Quality: Fruit is large and pale red, moderately firm and the flavour is moderate to acid. Fruit is suitable for canned and frozen products.
  • Fruit Size: 4 - 5 g / Brix %: 9.7
  • Pest and Disease Tolerance: Carries gene A1, now susceptible to the most common strain of aphid virus vector Amphorophora idaei (strains 2 and X). Is susceptible to raspberry root rot and Raspberry bushy dwarf virus.
